I love living this complicated, messy and joyful life! I have a passion for the human body and the lived human experience. I love when people feel empowered to take back agency in their bodies and move in the world in ways that are meaningful to them.
ABOUT JODIE
I moved to BC in 2009 to complete my Master’s of Physical Therapy at UBC in 2012 and felt instantly connected to this place and lifestyle that the Pacific Northwest can allow. I’ve had the pleasure of working in a diversity of healthcare settings where I have seen how challenging it can be to navigate our current healthcare system, how hard it is to work towards preventative healthcare and the importance of being included in decision making around your own healthcare choices. My work in pelvic health began in 2015 and it has rooted me more deeply in the intersection of my interest in the human body and providing care that considers healthcare inequities and social justice. I believe in healthcare that considers your unique experience in your body and that listening and communication skills are some of the most critical tools healthcare providers have as we walk along side you in your health. My clinical interests are ever evolving but I love connecting people with their body sensations and address care for your WHOLE body. I currently work with a particular interest in supporting preventative pelvic health and management of symptoms in prenatal and post partum clients, peri and post menopause, persistent pelvic pain conditions and trans health. I am a passionate educator and advocate for healthcare change. I like to keep my brain and body busy and am beginning pursuing my PhD in the Women's and Children's Health Program at UBC in the fall 2024. Ask me about my research anytime and how the cycle commute to school is going! Outside of my work and learning, you can find me running (literally) around town getting my feet into doors I didn’t know I could open.
