ABOUT ALLISON
Growing up in the forests and mountains of North Vancouver, I developed a love for the outdoors and a taste for adventure at a young age. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the human body and have enjoyed testing the limits of mine through challenging outdoor feats. I was naturally drawn to Physiotherapy after completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology (UBC 2009) as it seemed to be the perfect way to help others find joy in movement and discover the resilience of their own bodies. Upon graduating valedictorian from the University of Melbourne Doctor of Physiotherapy program (2014) I had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings but was most drawn to private practice. I completed an intensive training program in Clinical Pilates and began working with a pre/postnatal population. I found a passion in working with individuals through their transition to motherhood and helping them reconnect to their bodies. After a serious injury in 2019 and the birth of my first child in 2020, I became acutely aware of the challenges people face in navigating our healthcare system and the lack of access to both preventative and rehabilitative care. I decided to commit my practice to Pelvic Health and completed my training with Pelvic Health Solutions. I am someone who will never back down in the face of adversity and who will never tell you "no" or "you can't". I strongly believe if there is a will, there is a way and we will always find a way! I strive to help my clients achieve their goals, no matter how small. My intention is to meet my clients where they are at in their life. To support them with evidence based treatment options, education and a positive attitude so they feel empowered in their journey to improved health. My life outside of work is a new adventure everyday. You can find me chasing two little people and my dog through the forests of North Vancouver, scaling a rock face with my husband, finding some solitude on the Grouse Grind (ya right!) or carving some fresh lines in the backcountry or on piste. I am so grateful for this beautiful place I get to call home and the wonderful people I get to experience life with.
